Razer mouse mat Goliathus Chroma has a reasonably simple design. Approximately ten ″ x 14 ″ in size, it has a Razer Chroma light tube that sewn up around the outer edge of the mouse pad. The angle is round, which makes sense considering the light pipe and USB cable connector/mouse cable lock located on the top edge to the left. The Razer nameplate is hardly visible in deep black on the matte black part of the mouse cable. The mouse pad itself is a cloth with a micro-textured surface that is balanced for speed and control at the top and anti-skid rubber bottom at the bottom.

Although not much can say it about the design of a soft mouse mat, when turning on stitches it offers a cool pattern too. My main problem with mouse pads is the placement of a USB cable/mouse cable connector. I tried mouse mats with several different mice, and there were a number of them where catching the mouse cable felt like it was on the road. Is only 3/4/4, but half of this overlaps the mouse mat, and when using the mouse in the upper left area, I find I often hit it with a mouse cable which will then bend and then cause some small resistance to the mouse itself. Is not a big problem but certainly looks and can be removed entirely by moving the cable/cable connector to the left edge of the mouse mat near the top. That said it, and there is an Extended version of the mouse mat coming soon that is under the keyboard and mouse and what kind of placement will be okay in that case.

Razer says that the Razer Goliathus Chroma mouse mat balanced for control and speed. While playing games, mostly tested with Heroes of the Storm, their performance is easily equivalent to other soft surface mouse pads that I have used in the past.

As mentioned in the design section, placing a USB cable/mouse cable does not block the opportunity. Again, there is nothing major but more than a small inconvenience, especially in the middle of the game.

Razer Goliathus Extended Chroma Software Master Guide

As far as the Razer Synapse 3 software is concerned, there isn’t much for the Goliathus Extended Chroma settings screen. You can adjust brightness – from dim to bright, choose from Spectrum Cycling, Breathing, Reactive, or Static Fast Effects, use Chroma Studio, and turn on or off lights when the computer screen is turned off. Very basic and easy. The Reactive Fast Effect is slightly cooling and, if you have a Razer mouse that is also supported by Razer Synapse 3, it makes light react to your mouse click. In other words, every time you click a button or use the scroll wheel on your mouse, the mat will light up, if not, it will remain in a non-lit state.

Amp is the most remarkable feature of the Firefly Software, but there are other ways to perfect your experience. After you install the Razer Synapse 3 software, you can also switch surround sound, create individual profiles for games, and set your single equalization profile. The Kraken doesn’t have lighting, which I think is fine; after all, you can’t see the lights on your unique headphones.

Tweaking your preferences is quite easy, assuming that the software installs correctly. Synapse 3 even produces a simple toggle menu so that you can specify, application by application, which programs use stereo sound and which use surround. You can also play with volume normalization, which maintains consistent volume throughout the app, bass increase, individual level of distribution, and many other useful features.

I have to point out, that, on my regular test machine, software Synapse 3 spontaneously uninstalled itself after I searched through the settings menu and tried to disable the autostart program feature. I contacted Razer about this problem, and none of us knew similar to what had happened.

I can’t reinstall the software. But when I installed Synapse 3 on another system, everything worked smoothly. I cannot explain this difference and have no way of measuring the possibility of this error occurring in other users’ systems. But most likely.
